Certified Hardwoods by East Teak prides itself on it’s FSC® Certification and the FSC® products that we carry. One of the first questions people have is what is FSC®?

FSC® is an acronym for Forest Stewardship Council the Mission of the FSC is:

The Forest Stewardship Council mission is to promote environmentally sound, socially beneficial and economically prosperous management of the world’s forests.

Our vision is that we can meet our current needs for forest products without compromising the health of the world’s forests for future generations.

So FSC® Certification means that the products with that in their name meet all of the FSC® requirements for proper Forest Stewardship. This certification means that this products has produced with Environmental Protection, Community Engagement, and all requirements of the FSC® met.

The most important part of FSC® Certification is what is called a Chain of Custody Certification. The FSC Chain-of-Custody certification traces the path of products from forests through the supply chain, verifying that FSC-certified material is identified or kept separated from non-certified material throughout the chain.

With this in mind you can feel better know FSC certified products are truly developed with Good Stewardship of our natural resources in mind.
